Everything that you know about Andaman and Nicobar
Brief History of Andaman and Nicobar
The existence of Nicobar is known from the time of Ptolemy,
but the place has a long unwritten history. The residents here had been in
contact with the outside world through the trade of copra. However, the entry
of the modern world into his life began after the famous Vasco da Gama Yatra in
India. From the 17th century onwards, Portuguese and French missionaries tried
to spread Christianity in the Nicobar Islands. The Danes took possession of
these islands in 1756 and established their headquarters on the island of
Kamorta, but they abandoned it in 1848. The British formally annexed these
islands in 1869. In 1870 he established a panel settlement at Kamorta which
closed in 1888. In 1871 these islands were placed under the Chief Commissioner
of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This administrative system continued till the
pre-independence period. In 1920, the British Government appointed Mr. E.
Hurt was the first Assistant Commissioner of Nicobar. The effects of World War
II and the resulting Japanese occupation of the islands from 1942 to 45 created great upheaval in the minds of the people.
Where is Andaman and Nicobar?
As you can see Andaman and Nicobar is not a single island,
but a group of 572 islands. This is the reason why you have to use a ferry, ship,
ship, or boat, again and again, to roam here.
When to visit Andaman and Nicobar?
Although the best time to go is from October to February,
but we went in May and as such there was no problem. Yes, it was a bit hot, but
being from UP, that was not a big challenge for us.
Yes, I will definitely say that it is not right to go there
during the rainy season, and sometimes it starts raining from mid-May, so if
you want to go for summer vacations, then go to April end or May beginning.
How much will the trip cost?
It is very difficult to tell this. Because it depends on
many factors –
Which is the hotel?
What are you eating and drinking?
What activities are you doing? etc
But if we talk about a normal middle-class family, which
plans and manages its own travel, then it is about Rs. Can do a week tour
according to 25000 to 35000 per person, including air tickets and everything.
Go by booking travel packages or manage by yourself?
If you are not going in peak season then you can manage on
your own. This will make you comparatively cheaper and you will have the option
of choosing the right hotel, otherwise, you will have to take the same as the
travel company has given. This can also be done in peak season, but due to the
high crowd, it will not be easy to find the right hotel at the right price.
How to plan where to go on which day How to go?
The best way to do this is to call the travel companies and
ask them to email you your plan. You can prepare your own plan by asking for two three plans or you can book from any one of them.
What to do with ferry/cruise/ship tickets?
Both government and private cruises run in Andaman and
Nicobar. The price of government is about half that of private, but those
tickets are difficult to get because there is no online booking for them, and
it is difficult to get tickets after reaching there because all the tickets are
already sold out.
You have many options in Private and you can book online.
Keep in mind that some cruise companies, such as Makruzz
Company do not allow you to go on the deck of their ship… in that, you have to
travel sitting in a closed space or you can stand by going to the side. You
will not enjoy them as much… Government ships and some private ships, such as
Green Ocean lets you go on deck and you will enjoy traveling on them.
Do I have to have a car to travel within the
island?
Yes, in many places if you have Innova or a big family then
you will have to travel tempo. And here the taxi is not booked for the whole
day, the spot is booked, so it is expensive.
You can also travel by auto in Port Blair as both their
availability and rates are very good, you will save a lot of money.

How to reach Andaman Nicobar?
There are two ways –
· by
cruise or ship
· by
flight
From my point of view, it is better to go by flight. Because
it saves you a lot of time. And since even after reaching there, you have to go
from one island to another island ship, then you also get the fun of traveling
on the ship.
We went to Port Blair by flight from Kolkata. Arrival Rs.
10,000 per person was imposed. You can also get a flight or cruise from Chennai
to here.
What language is spoken in Andaman and Nicobar?
Hindi, Bangla, Tamil, English.
If you know Hindi then there will be no problem. However,
many people from West Bengal and Tamil Nadu are settled here, so if you know
Bangla or Tamil you will feel at home.
